The wooden panels that make up this birdhouse are 1.8cm in thickness, giving the nest box a pleasing solidity that justifies its premium name and offering insulation to those sheltering inside. The front panel features a 35mm entrance hole, reinforced by a steel ring, meaning this premium nest box is suitable for a number of different garden birds. The front panel is held in place by a metal turning screw, this can be easily released by hand, allowing the hinged panel to flap forward, which in turn allows easy access for cleaning the box. A metal grill sits roughly 1cm above the base of the nest box, designed to help catch bird droppings and aid in cleaning the birdhouse when the time comes. Shallow grooves have been cut into the inside of the front panel, these are particularly helpful for smaller birds who can have difficulty exiting a nest box once inside. Two ventilation holes are sited at the rear of the base, allowing for adequate air circulation.
